At Logix, we help you transition to a sustainable future with solar electrification. Our photovoltaic (PV) solar systems offer renewable energy, leading to a greener and more efficient tomorrow.
How does solar work?
SolarLogix provides PV solar solutions tailored to your energy needs, helping you reduce your carbon footprint and save on energy costs. PV solar systems convert sunlight into electricity using solar panels, providing a clean energy source for homes and businesses.
Solar PV panels contain photovoltaic cells. When sunlight’s photons hit these cells, they release electrons, creating a direct current (DC). This DC electricity goes to an inverter, which converts it to alternating current (AC). The AC then powers your home or business’s electrical panel.
What is Net Metering?
Many solar systems connect to the local electrical grid, known as a grid-tied system. During the day, your panels power your property first. If they produce excess energy, you can “sell” it back to the grid. Your electric meter may run backward as this surplus electricity feeds into the grid. The electric company will bank these credits, applying them to your utility bill when you draw electricity from the grid.
When solar production is low (e.g., at night or on cloudy days), electricity is drawn from the grid. Net metering allows you to “store” excess energy generated during sunny periods, offsetting the cost of grid electricity when solar production is lower. The main benefits of net metering are cost savings and a shorter system payback period. Please note that net metering is only available for grid-tied systems.
