Celebrating 10 Years of SolarLogix: A Decade of Tremendous Growth
This year marks a huge milestone for SolarLogix – 10 years of serving Maine with clean energy solutions. As we celebrate this anniversary, it’s hard not to reflect on how far we’ve come and the incredible journey that has brought us to where we are today.
The Beginning
In 2015, SolarLogix was just an idea, a vision brought to life by Josh, who started the business with little more than his determination, a toolbox, and Rachele.
Back then, Josh handled everything in the field himself – installing heat pumps and solar panels for local homeowners who were ready to embrace the electrification movement. Josh and Rachele had been living off grid, running a commercial organic vegetable farm so Josh was no stranger to the solar world.
It wasn’t glamorous, but it was the foundation of something special. With every install, they proved their dedication to quality, customer satisfaction, and sustainability. That same commitment is at the heart of SolarLogix today.
Growth and Evolution
As demand for electrification grew, so did SolarLogix. What began as a family-only operation now employs over 55 members of our community. Team members were hired, more services were offered, and more customers in the Midcoast area and beyond were discovering the benefits of going solar and making their homes and businesses energy efficient.
Over the years, we’ve made multiple moves to accommodate our growth, from office space in the “Red & White Building” in Belfast, to the “Tiny Sandwich Hut” on Route 1 where our first sign was hung, while using the barn at Josh & Rachele’s home for inventory, to larger spaces in town, and eventually to our current home at 18 Searsport Ave.
Our New Home: A Testament to Electrification
Our headquarters is more than just a workspace – it’s a symbol of what we stand for. The 14000 sq foot building is 100% electric. Powered by solar panels and conditioned by heat pumps. We also recently installed EV chargers for our employees who drive Subaru Solterras, which are part of our vehicle lineup. It’s not just where we work; it’s a living example of how our products can transform a space into a sustainable, efficient, and comfortable environment.
Walking into our new building, it’s impossible not to feel proud of what we’ve accomplished – and grateful for the customers and community that have made it all possible.
Looking Ahead
While it’s incredible to look back on the past decade, we’re even more excited about the future. The clean energy industry is evolving rapidly, and so are we. From heat pump water heaters to battery backup systems and EV chargers, we’re continuing to expand our offerings and find innovative ways to serve our customers.
